Joseph Loughlin, President

Loughlin is the President and primary shareholder of M.L. Zager, P.C., a professional corporation. Joe has extensive litigation, corporate and commercial experience acquired during his more than 25 year legal career. From 2003-2006 he acted as the Administrative Attorney at the M.L. Zager, P.C., actively performing all aspects of consumer and commercial collections and being responsible for Human Resources and compliance. Most recently Joe was in private practice with a focus on consumer and commercial collections, corporate litigation and real estate.

Prior thereto, Joe spent 18 years representing professional and general liability insureds on behalf of property and casualty insurance companies. As Chief Claims Officer of a large national insurance holding company, Joe directed the claims divisions responsible for medical malpractice, general liability, surety and bad faith claims. He served as Managing Attorney of the in-house law firm, employing 40 attorneys in five locations throughout New York and Florida. He also served as Corporate Secretary and Executive Vice President for the public holding company as well as its insurance company subsidiaries.

Joe began his legal career as an associate with Gordon & Silber, New York, N.Y. Later, he joined Dubois Billig Loughlin Conaty and Weisman, Rock Hill, N.Y., where he handled medical and dental malpractice claims and general liability claims involving property owners, health club operators, contractors, and other business owners, from the pleading phase through trial.

A 1987 graduate of New York Law School, a 1984 graduate of Ohio State University and a 1982 graduate of St. Lawrence University, Joe is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and in the U.S. District Courts of New York -Southern, Eastern, Northern and Western. He is a member of the American Collectors Association, the ACA Members Attorney Program, Healthcare Financial Management Association, New York State Bar Association (Tort & Insurance Law Committee), American Bar Association and Sullivan County Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Catskill Regional Medical Center and the YMCA of Orange and Sullivan County.
